Overview

This course is designed to provide an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to produce a range of short and simple business documents and, it is an ideal introduction to the skills and knowledge required by text processing operators in preparation for employment.

The qualification is ideal for those who are new to keyboarding and provides an ideal starting point to progress on to the Text Processing qualifications.

Specification aims

The aims of this specification are to:

  • Develop students' understanding of simple business documents and the display conventions typically used in their production and presentation.
  • Develop students' ability to use keyboards and keyboard functions.
  • Develop students' proofreading skill and present documents to an acceptable standard of accuracy.
  • Encourage progression by assisting in the development of the skills and knowledge which students will need to undertake further study.
