Overview

The OCR Level 2 Award in Preparing for a Business Venture is a bite-size qualification that aims to equip candidates with the ability to consider all aspects of setting up their own business from a personal and practical perspective.

Candidates will fully consider the potential of their business idea and their own personal needs as a business person working for themselves. The qualification requires candidates to identify any training or personal development that they may need to set up and run their own successful business, whilst also helping them to begin to identify and define a potential market and customer base.

Candidates will complete three mandatory units (units 1-3), of 10 hours each, to achieve the OCR Level 2 Award in Preparing for a Business Venture.

  • Unit 1 - Considering your business idea
  • Unit 2 - Identify personal preparation and self awareness for starting your business venture
  • Unit 3 - Identify the resources needed for starting your business venture

The OCR Level 2 Award in Preparing for a Business Venture is part of a suite of OCR Enterprise VQs that are bite-sized, flexible and relevant to today’s market.

All units within the suite are signposted to the latest Business Enterprise national occupational standards (developed by SFEDI), and, as such, can provide a key progression route between education and employment.
