Overview

The Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools has been developed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding that would be needed those working in an educational setting, supporting teaching and learning.

The Level 3 qualification is aimed at those who are experienced in the role and have a varied range of responsibilities and some opportunities for decision making.

The qualification has been designed to reflect best practice in supporting teaching and learning and it is anticipated that much of the evidence presented by candidates will be generated through naturally occurring work activities.

The qualification replaces the Level 3 Certificate for Teaching Assistants and reflects the mandatory units of the National Occupational Standards of the NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

To achieve a full award candidates must complete five mandatory units.

This is a new Qualification, replacing the Level 3 Teaching Assistants (03779). Please find a link to the old Certificate for Teaching Assistants web page.
