Overview

The Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Assistants has been developed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding that would be needed by a competent teaching assistant engaged in the process of supporting teaching and learning in a classroom/training environment.

The Level 2 qualification is aimed at those teaching assistants who are new to the role and whose levels of decision making are tightly defined by the teacher.

The qualification has been designed to reflect best practice in supporting teaching and learning and it is anticipated that much of the evidence presented by candidates will be generated through naturally occurring work activities.

To achieve a full award candidates must complete four mandatory units.
