Overview

The Level 3 Certificate for Teaching Assistants has been developed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding that would be needed by a competent teaching assistant engaged in the process of supporting teaching and learning in a classroom/training environment.

The Level 3 qualification is aimed at those teaching assistants who are experienced in the role and have a varied range of responsibilities and some opportunities for decision making.

The qualification has been designed to reflect best practice in supporting teaching and learning and it is anticipated that much of the evidence presented by candidates will be generated through naturally occurring work activities.

To achieve a full award candidates must complete five mandatory units.
