Degree courses starting in September 2017 will begin to use the new UCAS Tariff. The tariff numbers are much lower than before.
For example, a Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate (360GLH) at D* gets 56 points in comparison with 140 before. An A Level grade A* gets 56 points in comparison with 140 before.

The value of the Cambridge Technical and the A Level is the same, but universities will just use lower Tariff numbers than in previous years.
2017 entry courses advertised on the UCAS search tool from May 2016 will refer to the new UCAS Tariff points only.
The 2016 Cambridge Technical suite are not yet showing on the new UCAS Tariff. However, UCAS have confirmed that the 2016 suite does attract points and are on the tariff. UCAS will update their tariff document, but they’re unable to commit to a specific date.
