We are pleased to announce that our new AS/A Level Further Mathematics A qualifications are accredited for first teaching in 2017.
Our AS and A Level in Further Mathematics A specifications offer coherent courses of study to develop your students’ mathematical understanding. They encourage students to think, act and communicate mathematically, providing them with the skills to analyse situations in mathematics and elsewhere.
The mathematical knowledge your students can gain will be broad and widely applicable, preparing them for a wide range of destinations in both Higher Education and employment. The specifications build on the AS and A Level Mathematics course content and includes complex numbers, matrices, further calculus and differential equations.
Worthwhile - Research, international comparisons and engagement with both teachers and the wider education community have been used to enhance the reliability, validity and appeal of our assessments in further mathematics.
Learner-focused - They'll allow your students to develop mathematical independence built on a sound base of conceptual learning and understanding. The qualifications have variety of options allowing for a balance between breadth and depth, giving students a springboard for future progress and achievement in employment and in a variety of subjects in Higher Education.
Teacher-centred - They’re designed to help you teach interesting mathematics, encouraging students to master the subject and achieve positive exam results. We'll provide clear communication on the new qualification requirements and give you an extensive teacher support package, including high-quality flexible resources, particularly for the new AS and A Level Further Mathematics subject areas.
