In response to promoting the use and benefits of using new technology we introduced Computer-based Tests (CBT) for a number of GCSE qualifications.
Due to low centre demand for this form of assessment, we are now withdrawing the CBT option for the B061/01 and B063/01 units.
From June 2014 candidates should only be entered for the written paper for the unit stated above. The CBT option will no longer be available.
If you have any queries regarding this change, please contact the Customer Contact Centre on 01223 553998 or email email@example.com
The final assessment opportunity for these qualifications (J461, J061) will be summer 2018.
Learn about resit arrangements for 'legacy' GCSEs, AS and A Levels
OCR is currently reforming its GCSEs, AS and A Level in line with the government programme of general qualifications. However, on 3 November 2015 the DfE announced that development of reformed GCSE, AS and A Level ICT qualifications would cease due to similar content to the reformed GCSE (9-1), AS and A Levels in Computer Science.
Our new GCSE (9-1) Computer Science qualification has been developed for first teaching from September 2016. Alternatively, you may be interested in our Level 1/2 Cambridge Nationals in ICT and Level 1/2 Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia, which are included in the Key Stage 4 Performance Tables for both 2017 and 2018. Cambridge Nationals are vocationally related qualifications geared to key sector requirements.
Working in partnership with teachers and other key stakeholders in the ICT teaching community, we've carefully developed this qualification to motivate learners. The specification, support materials and publisher resources provide you with everything you need to teach with confidence.
