Project example - IT project

Brief: Produce a multimedia training package to be delivered as part of an induction programme for a new member of staff. The package could include:

• A multimedia presentation, describing the activities a person will be carrying out on a day-to-day basis
• A paper-based instruction booklet that can be used to help them carry out some of their tasks
• A directory of 'help line' or management support systems to which they could refer
• The package must match corporate styling constraints and satisfy any legal or regulatory requirements.

Their learning would include:

• Project planning (timeline) – a staged approach, including identifying interim targets
• Research
• Design production
• Production log
• Communicating the outcomes with others.
