OCR has been at the forefront of developing functional skills assessments. This experience, backed up by extensive research and evaluation from our three year pilot, has given us a unique insight into what functionality means to assessment design. This qualification contains one mandatory unit.
This qualification is externally set and marked by OCR. Units will be graded Pass or Fail.
The OCR Functional Skills qualification in Information and Communication Technology at level 2 is suitable for both young people and mature learners who wish to be recognised for their achievement of a wide range of practical ICT skills for use in every day life. The qualification is also suitable for those preparing to progress to further qualifications such as the Diploma or an apprenticeship.
The following qualification can be used as the functional skills component for all Apprenticeship/Advanced Apprenticeship frameworks in England.
Centres in Wales will need to use Essential Skills Wales. Please see relevant frameworks for level/combination required.
