OCR has redeveloped AS/A Level GCEs, which began teaching in 2008 (excluding Mathematics). Applied AS/A Level GCEs began teaching in September 2009.

Overview

Along with all awarding bodies, OCR has redeveloped AS/A Level GCEs (excluding Mathematics) in line with revised QCDA subject criteria.

The changes are designed to:

• Reduce the amount of assessment for teachers and learners, and internal marking for teachers
• Ensure reliability and fairness
• Help all young people maximise their potential
• Help universities differentiate between HE applicants.
