Structure | - The GCSE is now unitised

Content | - Popular topic areas have been kept and reorganised
- It is now possible to study only literature or civilisation through the GCSE short course, as well as it being possible to study both.
| - Learners can still study Greek literature and civilisation, or Roman literature and civilisation, or a combination of both Greek and Roman literature and civilisation, as they wish.

Assessment | - The GCSE can now be sat as either a modular or a linear course, with options to sit examinations in year 10.
| - There are separate papers for the Foundation and Higher tiers
- There is a reduction in the amount of examination time.
