GCSE changes from September 2012

The government has now confirmed that unitised GCSEs, will be replaced by linear assessment for all candidates starting a two-year course from September 2012. You can find out more about the changes here on the GCSE (from 2012) page.

Our Classical Civilisation GCSE covers the study of both Greek and Roman literature and civilisations. There is also the option to take Classical Civilisation GCSE as a short course, which offers further flexibility on either literature in translation, or on civilisation, or both. Please note that the specification and specimen assessment materials are applicable to both the Short Course and Full Course.

  • A short course option of only two units, but with the opportunity to top up to the full course if desired.
  • An option for up to 50% of student assessment to be completed before the end of the two-year course.
