GCSE changes from September 2012

The government has now confirmed that unitised GCSEs, will be replaced by linear assessment for all candidates starting a two-year course from September 2012. You can find out more about the changes here on the GCSE (from 2012) page.

From the January 2013 series, a small number of additional marks will be awarded to reflect the quality of Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG).

Judaism has been incorporated into the Religious Studies: World Religion(s) specification, for first teaching from September 2009.

This specification provides students with a comprehensive faith-based approach to Religious Studies focusing on topics such as beliefs and practices and religious texts. Our specification has been broadened out to cover six religions and give the option to focus on one of these major world religions throughout or to study a combination of up to three of these religions.
