OCR has redeveloped the majority of GCSEs, which began first teaching in September 2009. The exceptions are GCSE English, ICT and Maths which are for first teaching in September 2010 and GCSE Sciences. Legacy GCSE specifications will be available for assessment until June 2010.

GCSEs are changing to meet new subject criteria. As one of the country's leading awarding bodies, OCR has already taken this opportunity to improve the quality of our GCSEs for teachers and learners which began teaching in September 2009.
We've made improvements in three key areas: updated and relevant content, a focus on developing students' personal, learning and thinking skills, and flexible assessment, so teachers can choose the best learning approach for the job.
We want to make the introduction of the current GCSEs as easy for teachers to manage as possible.
