Overview

Sport and Recreation NVQs are suitable for people working in the field of Sport and Recreation.

The Sport, Recreation and Allied Occupations NVQ Level 1 is suitable for young people or those who are new to Sport and Recreation and who wish to achieve an award that reflects their competence in basic, introductory functions and responsibilities. To achieve a full award, candidates must complete six mandatory units.

Competence based

Like all NVQ (NQF)s this qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
