OCR is currently working on the development of a range of AS and A Levels for first teaching from September 2017.
Draft qualifications have not yet been accredited by Ofqual. They are published (along with specimen assessment materials, summary brochures and sample resources) to enable teachers to have early sight of our proposed approach.
Further changes may be required to draft qualifications and no assurance can be given at this time that the proposed qualifications will be made available in their current form, or that they will be accredited in time for first teaching in 2017 and first award in 2019 (2018 for AS Level qualifications).
OCR has been accredited for a range of AS and A Levels by Ofqual for first teaching from September 2016. You can see our reformed specifications and sample assessment materials on our new qualification pages.

The reformed AS Levels will be stand-alone qualifications in their own right. There will be one examination series each year. The AS will not count towards the final grade of an A Level. The reformed A Levels will be fully linear so assessment of a student’s knowledge and understanding of the whole course takes place at the end of two years of study.
We are carefully designing our AS Levels to be co-taught with the first year of the A Level.
The content of the AS Level specification is a subset of the content of the A Level specification, which can be taught in the first year of the A Level course. The content you deliver for the AS qualification is the same as the content for the first year of the A Level qualification. This allows AS and A Level learners to be taught together throughout the first year until the AS assessments.
