OCR has been accredited for a range of GCSEs by Ofqual for first teaching from September 2015. You can see our reformed specifications and sample assessment materials on our new qualification pages.
OCR is currently working on the development of a range of GCSEs for first teaching from September 2016.
We have already received accreditation from Ofqual for some of our reformed qualifications for first teaching from September 2016. Draft qualifications have not yet been accredited by Ofqual. They are published (along with specimen assessment materials, summary brochures and sample resources) to enable teachers to have early sight of our proposed approach.
Further changes may be required to draft qualifications and no assurance can be given at this time that the proposed qualifications will be made available in their current form, or that they will be accredited in time for first teaching in 2016 and first award in 2018 (2017 for AS Level qualifications).
The reformed GCSEs will be linear with assessment at the end of the two-year course.
Ofqual has confirmed that only certain reformed GCSEs will be tiered. GCSE maths, science and modern foreign languages (MFL) will be tiered.

Ofqual’s grade descriptors for English Language, English Literature and Mathematics have been released for GCSEs graded 9-1.
