Examined unit entries

Cambridge Technicals

For Cambridge Technicals (2016 suite) you need to make examined unit entries for timetabled exams (including computer-based testing).

Make sure you make test entries by the relevant test entry deadline for the series to enable your candidates to sit their exams. You must wait at least 48 hours after making full qualification entries before you can make examined unit entries.

You can make examined unit entries via Interchange, using either a web-based form or a spreadsheet, or via A2C.

To make examined unit entries via Interchange, follow the instructions below.

Access Interchange

  1. Log on to Interchange and hover over ‘Entries’ in the right-hand menu.
  2. Click on ‘Make entries’.
  3. Select ‘Cambridge Technicals’ and choose the entry method you require (see below).

If you choose to make examined unit entries using a spreadsheet, make sure you choose the Cambridge Technicals 2016 suite template.

Using the web-based entry form

Select your assessment

  1. Enter the scheme code in the search box and then click ‘Find assessment’.
  2. Select ‘Unit Entry’ and click ‘Okay’.

Select your candidates

You must select existing candidates rather than creating new ones:

  1. Enter the name, part name, UCI or candidate number in the search box and then ‘Find candidate’. You can restrict the search to show only candidates added during a given time period, from ‘today’ to ‘in the last five years’.
  2. Select the appropriate candidate(s) and click ‘Add selected candidates’.
  3. When you have selected all your candidates, click ‘Next’.

Select your units

  1. Select the relevant session from the drop-down menu.
  2. Add the unit entry number, then click 'Apply to selected'.
  3. When you have added all your examined units, click 'Next'.

Review and submit entries

  1. Review your entries and add an order number.
  2. Click ‘Submit entries’ to confirm. You will then see a confirmation page.

Using the entries spreadsheet

Complete the spreadsheet

  1. Download and save the 2016 suite spreadsheet template.
  2. Populate the spreadsheet with the information described in final entry information (either manually or by importing data from your management information system, ensuring you complete the ‘Session’, ‘Session year’ and ‘Unit’ columns).
  3. Save your spreadsheet in either XLS or CSV format.

If you submitted your full qualification entries using a 2016 suite spreadsheet and you still have a copy of your completed spreadsheet saved, you just need to complete the ‘Session’, ‘Session year’ and ‘Unit’ columns and then re-upload it using the instructions below.

Add your examined unit entries

  1. When you are ready to make your entries, click on ‘Browse’ to find your saved spreadsheet.
  2. Add an order number or reference in the box provided and then click on ‘Submit entries spreadsheet’.
  3. Interchange will validate the information you have provided and highlight any errors in red. If necessary, make the amendments to your entry information and click ‘Submit’.

Review and submit entries

  1. You will then see a confirmation page, to confirm that your entries have uploaded successfully.
  2. Download and save a copy of your examined unit entries for your records.

Fees
