Worried about the pen you used in an exam or forgetting to put your name on the paper? If you are feeling anxious about how you completed your exam paper, take a look at the FAQs below. They are the most popular queries we receive every year from students and we will keep refreshing these.
Q: My handwriting isn’t the best. Will my work be marked?
Our examiners are experienced at reading a wide range of handwriting. If one examiner can’t read your handwriting, your work will be passed on to another examiner, and so on.
Q: I put that I was answering question A but actually responded to question B and/or I forgot to label my answer. Will this be okay?
Our examiners are subject experts so if you labelled an answer incorrectly or forgot to label your answer, they will work out which question your answer matches up to.
Q: I wrote in pencil/I used the wrong colour pen in an exam. Will my paper still be marked?
Yes, your paper will definitely be marked. If you wrote in pencil or used a non-black pen, we can still mark your paper – by marking a hard copy, instead of marking your paper online.
Q: Help, I forgot to put my name on the paper!
Don’t worry, we can identify you by your candidate number anyway.
Q: I’m worried about an answer I wrote for a question on my paper. Who should I speak to?
If you are concerned about an answer you wrote on your question paper, the best person to speak to would be your subject teacher. They should be able to offer you feedback on the answer you provided.
