All marking and internal standardisation must be completed in good time and before the marks are submitted.
You must submit marks at least 10 working days before the moderation visit date.
You need to submit a total mark for each candidate per unit. The mark is the total number of assessment criteria achieved by the student for the unit. This is the ‘raw mark’.
If a candidate did not produce work, the candidate should be submitted as absent.
You submit marks via the Cambridge OCR Moderation Service, which will be accessed via My Cambridge from January 2026. Users with the ‘Teacher’ and ‘Exams Officer’ My Cambridge role will be able to submit marks.
Marks for Cambridge Advanced Nationals can’t be submitted via EDI or Interchange.
Once you have submitted your total marks, you will receive a sample request for six students per unit (or all students if there are fewer than six entered). The earliest you will receive a request is 15 working days before a visit.
Samples will include work from across the range of attainment of the candidates’ work.
Once you receive your sample request you need to do the following within three working days of your visit:
In the case of a candidate for whom the internally assessed work has been lost or is missing, or where the work is damaged or is incomplete, then you must apply for special consideration.
In addition, if the candidate concerned forms part of the requested sample, you must contact us so we can update the sample.
In certain circumstances we may request to see incomplete portfolio evidence where an application has been made.
We may be required to retain some items of candidate work as exemplar material for awarding, regulation, archive, teacher training and educational purposes.
We will inform you if work is required. In some circumstances, we may need to request work from a centre.
In such cases, your co-operation in supplying material is much appreciated.
Candidate work should be retained by centres under secure conditions until after the deadline for review of results or until any appeal, malpractice or other results enquiry has been completed, whichever is later. This applies to all work – whether or not it was part of the moderation sample.
