The key dates and deadlines for general qualifications, including Cambridge Nationals, are given in the following document:
7 November 2019: The June 2020 timetables for GCSE, Cambridge Nationals and A Levels have been updated. Changes have been made to examinations being held in the morning and afternoon of 3 June and 10 June. In addition, all A Level Mathematics and some Further Maths examinations, which were in the morning slot, will now move to the afternoon. You can find more information about this on the JCQ website.
The structure of the exam timetable is agreed by all the JCQ awarding bodies and many factors are considered. We do not timetable examinations for weekends, bank holidays or school holidays, and religious festivals are taken into account wherever possible. We also use ‘clash statistics’ from previous series to avoid major clashes and feedback from centres to identify significant problems.
Wednesday 24 June 2020 has been designated a ‘contingency day’ for examinations. The contingency day would be used in the event of national or local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom. Since more than one timetable date could be affected, centres must remind candidates they must remain available up to and including the contingency day. See the JCQ Instructions for conducting examinations for more details.
The provisional timetables are produced approximately a year before an examination series and then centres have an opportunity to comment. If we do not receive any feedback, we assume centres are happy with the timetables. Feedback should be sent to JCQ or OCR as appropriate as shown in the following table:
