The four main themes of the government’s long-awaited careers strategy have been announced.
In a speech to the Careers Education and Guidance Summit, Anne Milton, the Skills and Apprenticeship Minister, gave an insight into the forthcoming careers strategy.
The strategy will concentrate on:
- A high-quality careers programme in every school and college encapsulating the Gatsby Benchmarks
 - The importance of engagement with employers and additional support from Enterprise Advisers in the DfE’s opportunity areas
 - Tailored, individual support from a qualified adviser
 - Improved use of data and resources to support careers advice and decisions.

The Minister announced that the careers strategy would be published shortly.
