Supporting exams officers on results days 2021: Cambridge Technicals 09 July 2021

Alison Leather - Customer Support Manager (South East)

Alison LeatherIn my last blog, I wrote about how we’re supporting your GCSE, A Level and Cambridge Nationals results days and provided information about giving students their results. In this blog, I wanted to provide some more details about what will be available for Cambridge Technicals.

We usually issue results for the June series examined units (2016 suite) in August. This year, we won’t be issuing any unit results. Instead, we’ll be issuing full qualification awards based on the qualification level teacher assessed grades you submitted to us.

Cambridge Technicals results for both 2012 and 2016 suites will be issued to centres just after midnight on 9 August (the same time as A Levels). However, unlike A Levels, there’s no ‘embargo’ on these results and you can give them to students as soon as they’re published – although you may wish to wait and give out results at the same time as your A Level results.

Again, as for A Level results, results must remain confidential until this time so you can’t give students the final teacher assessed grades you submitted to us.

Please be aware we won’t be publishing grade boundaries, examiners' reports or mark schemes this year.

EDI results files

If you made EDI entries or included the UCI when you made entries via Interchange, we'll be issuing results via A2C just after midnight on 9 August. Depending on your entries, you’ll receive the following files:

  • 9C20 – One file containing 2012 suite qualification grades.
  • 9I20 – One file containing 2016 suite qualification grades.

If you’re a SIMS user and want to import your qualification results into the summer season, we produce specific ‘summer’ basedata to enable you to do this and instructions on an extra step needed to amend your results before importing them are available here. You don’t need to use this though, results will import into the September series without this – it’s an optional download.

New for 2021: Candidate achievement report

We’ll have a new Interchange results report this year that will allow you to view and download your students’ qualification results. This is something we know you’ve been asking for so I’m delighted it will be available for your results this year.

The candidate achievement report replaces the candidate unit achievement report and will be available for both the 2012 and 2016 suites. The report shows the latest qualification grade achieved and the unit results from a selected date range or series – although there won’t be any unit results this summer. You can generate it for individual candidates or the whole cohort. You can also choose whether to produce it as a PDF – for example if you want to use it as a results slip – or as a CSV file.

To access the report, log in to Interchange, hover over ‘Cambridge Technicals’ and click on ‘Results documents’ in the left-hand menu. If you offer our other general qualifications, to make it easier for you, you can also access the report from the GCSE and A Level results reports page (Results>Results documents). There are samples on our website of the PDF and the CSV versions.

However you manage results days this summer, I hope they go smoothly for you, your colleagues and your students.
