Cambridge OCR homepage
The first step to offering Cambridge OCR qualifications is becoming an approved centre. This will enable you to make entries for any of following qualifications:
*Approval for Cambridge Technicals is at qualification level so you will also need to tell us which subjects you are planning to offer.
If you wish to offer Careers and Life and Living Skills, please see the dedicated centre approval page.
Most Cambridge OCR centres in England will be automatically approved to offer Cambridge Advanced Nationals.
Centres that offer Cambridge OCR qualifications that do not contain formal timetabled exams and non-Cambridge OCR centres will need to request approval – read on for more details.
Cambridge Advanced Nationals are not available to centres in Wales or Northern Ireland.
If you are a centre in England currently approved to offer Cambridge OCR qualifications in any subject from the list below, we will automatically approve you for Cambridge Advanced Nationals. You do not need to request additional approval.
If you have not submitted entries for any of these qualifications in the last two years, please contact our centre approval team at centre.approval@ocr.org.uk as your approval may have lapsed.
If you currently only offer the Cambridge OCR qualifications below, you must request additional approval to offer Cambridge Advanced Nationals as the qualifications below do not have formal timetabled exams.
Please contact our centre approval team at centre.approval@ocr.org.uk to begin the process, which may involve a visit from JCQ Centre Inspection Service (see below).
If you do not offer any Cambridge OCR qualifications, you will need to apply to be a Cambridge OCR centre.
You need to follow the JCQ General Regulations and JCQ instructions. These include (but are not limited to) the following documents:
To apply for centre approval, please contact us at centre.approval@ocr.org.uk.
Please tell us which qualifications you wish to offer and the number of candidates you will have each year.
We will send you a checklist for you to complete.
If your checklist shows your centre meets the requirements, we will send you the centre approval application form:
When we have reviewed your application, we will carry out a credit check.
If the credit check is successful, we will liaise with the JCQ Centre Inspection Service:
Once your centre has passed all checks, including the inspection, we can approve your centre. You will receive an email of confirmation. You can then enter candidates for the qualifications that you are approved to offer.
Once approved, please tell us about the Cambridge OCR qualifications you are teaching or plan to teach with the expression of interest online form.
We have a credit checking process in place to help us verify your credit worthiness.
You need to have been established, and trading on credit terms, for a minimum of six months.
If you cannot satisfy these requirements, we will be unable to process your application.
We can, however, review your application after six months of trading.
If you cannot meet these criteria but think there are extenuating circumstances, please email us at centre.approval@ocr.org.uk.
Approval is subject to continued centre activity; if there are no entries or certification claims for a qualification for two consecutive years, your centre approval will automatically lapse.
