All marking, internal standardisation and any internal reviews must be completed before the marks are submitted to us. You don't need to send a copy of the marks to your moderator but you should keep a copy of the marks you submit for your records.
Moderation cannot begin until we have received all the marks. Deadlines for submitting marks are available in the key dates document.
Marks can be submitted via A2C or Interchange.
Follow the instructions in your own management information system for inputting marks for the relevant components. The common format for submitting marks is outlined in the JCQ Formats document.
To enter and submit marks via Interchange, the following roles can be used:
Log in to Interchange, hover over ‘Coursework and tests’ and click on ‘Enter coursework marks/grades’ in the left-hand menu.
Select the series, enter the assessment code and click ‘Search’. You will see the list of candidates entered for this assessment.
Enter the marks for each candidate:
After completing each page, click ‘Save’ in the bottom right of the screen.
When you are happy the data is accurate, tick the ‘Checked’ box for each candidate, including absent candidates.
You now need to submit your marks.
Hover over ‘Coursework and tests’ and click on ‘Enter and submit coursework marks/grades’ in the left-hand menu.
Select the relevant series and qualification from the drop down menus.
If ‘Review Incomplete’ is displayed for an assessment, press the button to view the assessment for which data is incomplete and enter as appropriate.
Click ‘Submit’ for the relevant assessment. The marks will now be submitted.
Hover over ‘Coursework and tests’ and click on ‘View submitted coursework marks/grades in the left-hand menu.
The ‘submitted’ status means the marks are being processed and ‘confirmed’ means we have received them.
To print a copy of the marks, you can:
Keep a copy of the marks for your centre. You don't need to send a copy of the marks to your moderator.
If you discover an error with a previously submitted candidate mark, you will need to complete the Amendment to centre marks form:
If you amend a mark after moderation has started, we may require the work relating to the relevant candidate.
If this is the case, we will let you know and tell you where to send the work.
