Progress Tracker

Cambridge Technicals

Accessing the Progress Tracker Searching and filtering data Downloading data Achievement status Submitting the declaration Further support

Our Cambridge Technicals Progress Tracker makes it easier for schools and colleges to:

  • check qualification entries
  • track the progress of students’ unit achievements to identify whether they're eligible to receive their full qualification award.

Using the Progress Tracker you can view all your students’ qualification entries, where a qualification entry was made after 1 September 2021, and the status of each unit. You can download the data to a .csv file to make it easier for you to complete your checks. We've provided guidance on using the Progress Tracker below.

You may also find it helpful to take a look at our video which explains how to access the Progress Tracker and includes tips on filtering and downloading data.

The Progress Tracker is updated daily, but please allow 24 hours for any changes to qualification entries or the status of units to be updated. You can see when the data was last updated on the Progress Tracker welcome page.

Please be aware, the Progress Tracker will not be updated between 24 July and 14 August as we prepare to issue the summer results.

The Progress Tracker is accessed via our single sign-on service My Cambridge.

Accessing the Progress Tracker

Log into the Cambridge Technicals Progress Tracker. You can either do this by logging into My Cambridge at sso.cambridge.org and clicking on the ‘Cambridge Technicals Progress Tracker’ tile or by going directly to the Progress Tracker at:

If one of the links above doesn't work, you may not have permission to access the Progress Tracker.

If this is the case:

  • If you are a teacher, please contact your exams officer as they will need to set up your account within My Cambridge.
  • If you are an exams officer, and you've already activated your My Cambridge account, please contact us.

If you're an exams officer and you need to add your Cambridge Technicals teachers to My Cambridge, we can add users on your behalf, just make a request.

Searching and filtering data

Once you log in, you'll see the Progress Tracker welcome page. You can use the ‘Filter by’ panel to search for data. To view data for all candidates, across all qualifications, click the ‘Done’ button at the bottom of the ‘Filter by’ panel.

Once you’ve filtered the data, you can view this in the ‘Result summary view’ or the ‘Result detailed view’. You can toggle between the two views.

Result summary view

The ‘Result summary view’ shows the following:

  • candidate details
  • qualification details, including specification code and the guided learning hours (GLH) required to achieve the qualification
  • qualification result status for each candidate – this will show as either ‘Result achieved’ or ‘Result not yet achieved’

Click an individual candidate to view a list of units with the achievement status for the unit, where applicable.

Result detailed view

For the data you’ve selected in the ‘Filter by’ panel, the ‘Result detailed view’ shows a list of the units and the achievement status, where applicable.

In the ‘Result detailed view’ there are two additional filters available in the ‘Filter by’ panel:

  • unit – you can select a single unit or multiple units
  • unit achievement status

Achievement status

The Progress Tracker shows the achievement status for qualifications and units. We've provided more detail about the meaning of each status below:

Qualification result status

685075 04 results status

The qualification has been achieved.

685077 05 results status

The qualification has not yet been achieved.

Examined units

685075 04 results status

The student achieved the unit with at least a Near-Pass grade for units at Level 3 or an Achieved or Pass grade for units at Level 2.

685816 06 results status

The student attempted the unit but failed to achieve the minimum standard required.

685815 07 results status

The student is entered for the unit in the current exam series (and did not achieve the unit in a previous series). Note: If the student achieved the unit in a previous exam series, the unit status shows as ‘Result achieved’.

685816 08 results status

The student has not been entered for the unit in the current exam series (and did not achieve the unit in a previous series).

689958 13 results status

The student was marked as absent on the attendance register or was absent from a computer-based test. The absent status shows whilst the exam series is live. Note: If the student achieved the unit in a previous exam series, the unit status shows as ‘Result achieved’.

Moderated units

685075 04 results status

The student achieved the unit with at least a Pass grade.

685814 06 results status

The student failed to achieve the minimum standard required and was awarded unclassified (U). Note: If the unit was withdrawn by the moderator no unit status will show in the ‘unit achievement status’ column (it will be ‘blank’).

685822 12 results status

The claim has been submitted to the moderator.

685817 09 results status

The sample has been selected by the moderator.

685818 10 results status

The claim has been revised/confirmed by the moderator. This will only appear for a short time. Note: If the Result Pending status shows for more than 24 hours, please contact us at vqprocessing@ocr.org.uk.

685820 11 results status

A request for reduction in assessment from 2021/22 has been submitted in Interchange. An assessed grade for the reduced unit(s) is calculated once all other units are achieved. The status will then show as ‘Result achieved’.

At the point you submit the declaration, we recommend you download your student data to save a copy for your records. You can do this by clicking the ‘Download (.csv)’ button from the ‘Results detailed view’ in the Progress Tracker.

Submitting the declaration

The declaration must be submitted between 15 and 23 June 2023. It must only be submitted once the checks have been completed and the details confirmed as correct.

You must have the ‘Exams Officer’ role within My Cambridge to be able to view and submit the declaration (those with any other role will not be able to view or submit the declaration).

You can read more about the declaration on our Checkpoint 2 page and in our video.

From 15 June, the Progress Tracker welcome page will display the ‘Action Required Checkpoint 2 declaration’ box. If you click the ‘X’ to close the declaration box, it will appear again when you next log in to the Progress Tracker.

To submit the declaration, click the ‘Complete declaration’ button. A pop-up box appears listing all the checks you need to confirm have taken place.

Remember, the declaration must only be submitted once the checks have been completed and the details confirmed as correct.

If you’re happy to proceed, click the ‘tick box’ at the bottom of the declaration and click the ‘Submit’ button.

Once submitted, you’ll see confirmation the declaration has been submitted. Click ‘X’ or ‘Back to search results’ to close the window.

When you return to the Progress Tracker welcome page, you’ll see a notification confirming the Checkpoint 2 declaration has been submitted, who submitted it and when. This confirmation appears for all users.

Once the declaration has been submitted you cannot submit it again.

If you’ve submitted the declaration in error, please contact us.
