Applications for OCR Bursary Scheme 2016 now open 22 March 2016

If you live in the West Midlands and have been offered a place on a full-time undergraduate degree course at Cambridge University starting this autumn, now’s the time to apply for an OCR bursary towards the cost of your studies.

The deadline for applications is Monday 16 May. OCR’s bursary scheme is open to students who are completing their sixth form studies at schools and colleges in the West Midlands. This is the 13th year that OCR has supported talented students with funding, which offers ten students £3000 a year towards living costs, tuition fees, or a combination of the two, so they can make the most of their studies. The fund arises from OCR’s historical association with the West Midlands Exam Board. Previous bursary winners have gone on to study a wide range of subjects, including medicine, economics, land economy, linguistics and engineering amongst others.

Simon Lebus, Chair of OCR and Chief Executive of OCR’s parent organisation, Cambridge Assessment, said: "The OCR bursary fund regularly attracts applications from outstanding students from schools and colleges in the West Midlands. Previous award winners have demonstrated extremely high academic achievement, often in the face of adversity and challenges. We are proud to be able to support students with this award, enabling them to make the most of the opportunities that Cambridge offers with less financial pressure."

The closing date for applications is Monday 16 May 2016.
