Careers inspiration

Not sure what career is for you? Firstly you need to remember that it’s OK not to know what you want to do when you leave education. Many people face the same issue and concerns, its hard to know what jobs are out there and what will suit you. The key is that you make a start and begin to do some research for yourself.

Start by asking questions…

Ask questions about yourself Ask questions about others Ask questions about what’s next, maybe you can ask an employer
What am I good at? What do my family/friends do? Do I need more work experience?
What experience have I had so far? Why did they choose that? Where will I find work experience?
What would I enjoy doing every day? Do they like it? Who can give me good careers advice?
What makes me happy? What advice would they give? Have I explored all my options?

There are some great websites that can help you start to explore the range of careers and what it might be like to do a particular job, they can help you research the qualifications and skills you need too as well as help you understand how difficult or easy it might be to start that career.
