Access arrangements are available to candidates who have a disability or special requirement and are entitled to support for other exams. 

Standard arrangements include extra working time, supervised rest breaks, or enlarged question papers. Other arrangements may be available; these will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Please note that any designated help for a candidate should not be someone who has a vested interest in the candidate, for example a parent or teacher. 

Deadlines for submitting access arrangements 

The last date to request modified materials for STEP is 21 April at 23:59 UK time. 

The last date to request all other access arrangements is 4 May at 23:59 UK time. 

Requesting access arrangements 

Once a candidate has been registered in Entries Extranet you can submit a request for access arrangement(s) via Entries Extranet. See the user guide for more details. 

We will email you to authorise the request or to ask for further information. 

Evidence for access arrangements 

All applications for access arrangements must be supported with appropriate evidence, for example from a medical professional or a relevant qualified specialist: 

• You must keep supporting evidence until results for the test have been issued. If a candidate's need or use of access arrangements is not supported with appropriate evidence, this may be considered malpractice. 
• The supporting evidence must give a clear outline of the disability, illness or learning difficulty and how this justifies the access arrangement(s) requested. 
• The supporting evidence must be legible and written in English. It must be on headed paper or with an official stamp and bearing the name, relevant qualification(s) and signature of a recognised medical practitioner or other appropriately qualified specialist assessor. 
• If the original version of the supporting evidence is not written in English, we will accept a translated version which must be signed by the original author, a legal representative or a member of the centre’s exam staff. 
• Supporting evidence must have been issued when the candidate was at least 13 years old.
