Approved list of activities for Units R052 and R056
Following feedback for Unit R056: Developing knowledge and skills in outdoor activities, we are introducing a list of approved activities to accompany this unit for students starting the course in September 2019. This list has been taken from examples already in the specification, with the addition of two extra land-based activities – no other activities are permitted.
Unit R056 also requires the use of two activities and all activities must take place outdoors. Indoor derivatives are not permitted, e.g. Indoor rock climbing, indoor skiing, etc. We have updated both set assignments to include this information, and these can be found on the qualification page under ‘set assignments’.
The list of approved activities introduced in September 2018 for Unit R052: Developing sports skills has not changed, and your students must continue to pick activities from this list for use within this unit.
