GCSE English Literature poetry anthology update

We’ve reviewed the content of our Towards a World Unknown poetry anthology and amended some poems so that they align with the editions stated on page 2 of the anthology. The updated edition of the anthology is available from September 2020.
No poems have been added or removed in this review. The details of the amendments made to individual poems are listed below.

- Comma added at the end of lines 2 and 4
I Wouldn’t Thank You for a Valentine
- Line 5: ‘Interflora roses’ amended to ‘Interflora red roses’
In Paris with You
- Lines 11- 19 amended to one indented stanza.
Conflict

- Line 28: ‘As if voluntary’ amended to ‘As if with voluntary’
- Line 42: ‘There was darkness’ amended to ‘There was a darkness’
The Destruction of Sennacherib
- Line 1: ‘like a wolf’ amended to ‘like the wolf’
- Line 24: full stop at end of line amended to exclamation mark
The Man He Killed
- Each stanza amended to begin with opening quotation marks
- Final stanza amended to end with closing quotation marks

- Line 32: typo in ‘voyeuur’ corrected
Phrase Book
- Line 4: ‘This is my front room’ amended to ‘This is my own front room’
- Line 17: typo in ‘Airbone Radar’ corrected to ‘Airborne Radar’
