As part of our regular review of our qualifications and following feedback from teachers, we're extending the duration of the following A Level Classical Civilisation exam:

• H408/11 The World of the Hero – we’re changing the time allowed from ‘2 hour 20 minutes’ to ‘2 hours 30 minutes’

This change affects the Summer 2024 exams and all future series.

We've amended our resources to reflect this change. You can view and download the updated specification (version 1.8) and sample assessment material from the A Level Classical Civilisation qualification page on our website, and from Teach Cambridge.

We’re not changing the content or structure of our qualification.

We'll be updating our current practice papers to reflect the change to the duration of the assessment as soon as possible.

Please make sure your students are aware that the time allowed for the A Level Classical Civilisation H408/11 exam paper in summer 2024 is 2 hours 30 minutes.

The past papers on our website will not be amended and will continue to show the previous exam time duration of 2 hour 20 mins.
