AS and A Level Further Maths

Amended formulae booklets for AS and A Level Further Mathematics A and B (MEI) are now available to download from the qualification pages. The updated pdf documents can be accessed via 'Assessment Materials'. Please make sure you are using the most up-to-date versions of the booklets with your students.

The most notable changes are detailed below, with any other changes being changes to style and format rather than content.

AS and A Level Further Mathematics A (H235, H245)

• Page 2: Binomial series - nCr form added
• Page 2 (H235) or Page 3 (H245): minus signs in matrices for 3-D rotations corrected
• Page 5 (H235) or Page 8 (H245): value for 2-tail test at 5% with n = 45 corrected to 0.2945
• Page 8 (H235) or Page 14 (H245): Step 4 of Prim’s Algorithm – “mark column j” corrected to “mark column i”

AS and A Level Further Mathematics B (MEI) (H635, H645)

• Page 2: Binomial series - nCr form added
• Page 3: formulae for variance changed to match the formulae given in the AS and A Level Mathematics B (MEI) (H630, H640) question papers
• Page 4 and page 14: in the table of percentage points of the Normal distribution z = 2.575 corrected to 2.576
• Page 12: value for 2-tail test at 5% with n = 45 corrected to 0.2945
