Specification updates for Cambridge National in Enterprise and Marketing

Following feedback from teachers, we have updated our specification and sample assessment material for the Level 1/Level 2 Cambridge National in Enterprise and Marketing (J837). We have also enhanced the qualification by making changes to the workload and assessment design of Units R068 and R069. Please see below for details.
Updated specification
The specification amendments we've made include the following:
- Unit R068: the aim of the unit and marking criteria grids updated to reflect the changes to the set assignment tasks
- Unit R069: marking criteria grid amended to reflect set assignment changes
- confirmation the unit recording sheets (URS) and set assignment feedback forms are now only available on Teach Cambridge
- clarification that on candidate results day we publish the raw mark to UMS converter on our website for the relevant series
- new details about our online training module
- a new section added on Informing students of their marks
- updated guidance on:
- centre approval
- plagiarism, including the use of AI
- resubmitting moderated work
- access to scripts.
We have listed all the amendments and corresponding section numbers at the front of the updated specification.
You can view and download the updated specification (version 6) from the Enterprise and Marketing qualification page on our website and Teach Cambridge.
Please make sure you use the new version of the specification with your students from 1 June 2026.
Amended sample assessment material
To reflect the marking criteria in the amended specification, we have also updated the sample assessment material and unit recording sheets.
You can view and download the sample assessment assessment material from the Assessment > Sample assessment materials section of the qualification page on our website and Teach Cambridge.
Please remember to make sure you are using the correct version of the unit recording sheets with your students when they complete their NEA assessments for the 2027 series.
Unit R068 changes
We have amended Unit R068 as follows:
- Task 1: The requirement to create three market research tools reduced to two.
- Task 3: The requirement to generate two product design ideas reduced to one and wording to task amended to provide clarity.
- Task 4 and 5: Wording updated to reflect the changes made in Task 3.
Unit R069 changes
We have amended Unit R069 as follows:
- Task 1: The marking criterion has been split into two parts to reflect the layout of the tasks.
- Task 2: The requirement to create three different types of promotional materials reduced to two and wording in task and marking criterion updated to provide clarity.
- Task 4: The marking criterion has been merged into one grid from two to reflect the layout of the task.
Please make sure you review the updated marking criteria and task instructions when using the 2027 Cambridge OCR-set assignment, available from 1 June 2026 on Teach Cambridge.
