Externally assessed units

We have made minor amends to the taught content and the exemplification column in the units below to add clarity where needed and to support teaching and learning. Where amendments have been made these are identified in the unit by a vertical black line. The updated units should be used from now on.

Sample assessment material

The sample assessment material for Units 2 and 24 has been updated and should be used with immediate effect.

The sample assessment material for Unit 4 will be updated and made available on the OCR website in due course.

For Units 2 and 4 the answer space for calculation questions has been changed with effect from January 2018. The answer lines have been moved and replaced with blank space and a specific answer line for the final result to be written. Where applicable, if no units are stated on the answer line candidates must state the appropriate unit with their final answer. 

Please refer to the information section on the front cover of question papers, reminding candidates of the importance of showing their workings and providing final answers to a degree of accuracy appropriate to the context.

Updated formula booklet

Version 5 of the formula booklet is now available. An amendment has been made to the Ideal gas law and Characteristic gas law on page 14.

An updated version of the formula booklet will be included with the January 2018 papers.
