Cambridge Technicals in Sport and Physical Activity

Following feedback from the DfE in 2016 some changes were made to the Level 3 Cambridge Technicals Foundation Diploma and Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (05828 and 05829) qualification structures and some unit content.

The changes to these qualifications are summarised below:

• The specialist pathways for these qualifications have been revised. OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Foundation Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity has 3 specialist pathways: Activity Leadership, Fitness Instructing, Recreational Assistant.
• The 720 guided learning hours qualification, OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity now has 2 Specialist pathways: Sports Coaching, Personal Training.
• The mandatory units now include Unit 11 ‘Physical Activity for Specific Groups’ where the learner is required to carry out key tasks that enable them to use their learning from other units.
• The choice of optional units has been revised. You might find some units that would have been available in the pathway have been removed (see table below).
