Cambridge Technicals in Sport and Physical Activity (2016 suite)
With the 2018/19 academic year underway, we have listened to feedback from teachers and moderators and made some clarifications and amendments to the internally-assessed units for both the Level 2 and Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Sport and Physical Activity. Corrections have also been made where needed, to make sure any information or advice given is consistent throughout. Please make sure you are using the most up-to-date versions with your students.
Level 2 amendments
For Unit 5, we have updated the assessment guidance by making a minor addition to the grading criteria mentioned within it.
Level 3 amendments
General amendments have been made to the assessment guidance for Units 2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 17. We hope the clarifications provide more guidance for teachers; the changes are indicated by a black line.
More detailed amendments have been made to the following units:
- Unit 5: The types of activities to be analysed have been 'opened up'. This is reflected in the teaching content, grading criteria and assessment guidance. The model assignment has also been updated.
- Unit 8: As well as clarifications to the assessment guidance, the grading criteria table has also been corrected for M4. Students need to carry out different roles in just one event, not multiple events.
- Unit 13: We have amended the examples given in the teaching content for point 3.1, and updated the assessment guidance accordingly.
These updates for Level 2 and Level 3 are already applicable, but we recognise some centres may have already started or finished these units and moderators have been made aware of this. We hope the amendments and corrections are helpful for teachers and students, please use the updated versions if you have not already completed the units.
