Supporting Level 3 Cambridge Technicals students with their UCAS application form

Many students are applying to universities with Level 3 Cambridge Technicals qualifications, and if you are supporting learners within your centre with their UCAS application forms, we would like to draw your attention to the following.

An issue sometimes raised by UCAS and admissions staff is that students have used the wrong titles for their Cambridge Technicals qualifications on their UCAS application forms. Entering the wrong title could have implications and possibly disadvantage an application.

Our advice is to check the Level 3 Cambridge Technicals Explained document on the OCR website and the Register of Regulated Qualifications to make sure students are using the correct qualification titles.

UCAS offers a full service which enables schools and colleges to manage the applications of their students. Using this service, you will be to check your students have used the full correct titles for the qualifications they've entered.

We recommend centres take advantage of this service – you'll have to register as a UCAS centre first though.
