Specification updates for Cambridge Advanced National in Computing: Application Development

Following feedback from teachers, we have updated our specification and sample assessment material for Cambridge Advanced National in Computing: Application Development (H029/H129). See below for details.
Updated specification
The amendments include the following:
- updated assessment guidance for Units F162, F163, F164, F165 and F166 to clarify template use and improve guidance for centres
- confirmation the unit recording sheets (URS) and set assignment feedback forms are now only available on Teach Cambridge
- clarification that, on candidate results day, we publish the raw mark to UMS converter on our website for the relevant series
- updated guidance on:
- plagiarism, including the use of AI
- teaching requirements for referencing or acknowledging material copied from the internet or other sources
- teacher authentication for non-examined assessment (NEA).
We have listed all the amendments and corresponding section numbers at the front of the updated specification.

Please make sure you use the new version of the specification with your students from 1 June 2026.
Amended sample assessment material
We have also amended the sample assessment material to reflect the assessment guidance changes in the specification for Units F162, F163, F164, F165 and F166.
