Following feedback from teachers, we have updated our specification and sample assessment material for Cambridge Advanced National in Cyber Security (H037/H137). See below for details.

Updated specification

The amendments include the following:

• updated assessment guidance for Units F198 and F199 to clarify template use
• confirmation the unit recording sheets (URS) and set assignment feedback forms are now only available on Teach Cambridge
• clarification that, on candidate results day, we publish the raw mark to UMS converter on our website for the relevant series
• updated guidance on:
  • plagiarism, including the use of AI
  • teaching requirements for referencing or acknowledging material copied from the internet or other sources
  • teacher authentication for non-examined assessment (NEA).

We have listed all the amendments and corresponding section numbers at the front of the updated specification.

You can view and download the updated specification (version 5) from the Cyber Security qualification page on our website and Teach Cambridge.

Please make sure you use the new version of the specification with your students from 1 June 2026.

Amended sample assessment material

We have amended the sample assessment material to reflect the assessment guidance changes in the specification for Units F198 and F199.

We have also made the following changes:

• Unit F194: an extra instruction added for Question 2(b) to make it clearer
• Unit F196: information added to clarify how Task 2 should be delivered.
