In July 2023, in response to the Department of Education’s content requirements, we updated our specification and sample assessment materials for GCSE Citizenship Studies J270, for assessment in 2025.

Following these updates, we have continued to review the qualification and we’ve now updated section 2b of the GCSE Citizenship Studies specification (version 1.6) to include new examples of subject content. New teaching guidance 

To help you with teaching, we’ve also now provided a guide to the specification updates to support you. This includes further information on the updates we’ve made to the specification and what you need to know to support your planning and teaching for assessment from June 2025.
