Ofqual’s consultation on revised assessment arrangements for GCSE Computer Science
We welcome the chance to contribute our expertise to Ofqual’s consultation on revised assessment arrangements for GCSE Computer Science and we encourage teachers and the wider education community to take part.
Teachers have shared their views with us on the challenges of making the NEA (non-examination assessment) work for the new (9-1) Computer Science GCSEs. Whatever the result of the Ofqual consultation, we will support schools and colleges so they can put any new arrangements in place quickly and deliver the new GCSE successfully.
The timing may be tight but we believe the consultation is a positive opportunity for teachers and students. Here’s our guidance on what the changes in the Ofqual consultation might mean for you, and a link to the consultation, as well as a statement from all the JCQ exam boards.
We’d like to make sure that your views are reflected in our consultation response. Please feel free to share your response to the consultation with us, or a short summary of your key concerns, by emailing: policy@ocr.org.uk.
We will also continue our research into a longer term solution for a more authentic assessment of programming skills.
