Changes to performance points and discount rules affecting Living Texts Level 1/2 Certificate (J945)

The criteria for qualifications receiving performance points in the 2016 assessment series have changed. Living Texts Level 1/2 Certificate (J945) will count in performance measures for 2016 only. This qualification will therefore discount against GCSE English Language (J351) and English Literature (J352) in the 2016 performance tables.

If you are entering Year 11 students for both the Living Texts Level 1/2 Certificate and GCSE English Language and/or English Literature in the same assessment series during 2016 then please note that Living Texts will be counted in the Progress 8 measure of your centre's performance, rather than the GCSE qualification.
