Approval for Vocational Qualifications
12 July 2016
Details of the approval process for Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals from September 2016
In September 2016, our new Level 1/2 Cambridge National Certificate in Child Development and the new Level 3 Cambridge Technicals 2016 suite will be available. In most cases, if you offered the previous version of these qualifications, your centre will be automatically approved. However, there are exceptions:
Cambridge National in Child Development
If you are approved to offer any of our GCSE and/or GCE qualifications, or another Cambridge National subject, you can make entries for Cambridge Nationals in Child Development without requiring any additional approval. If you have not offered one of our Cambridge National or General Qualification before, you will need to seek approval. Email our Centres Team and we'll send you the form.
Cambridge Technicals Level 3 (2016 suite)
Our new 2016 suite of Cambridge Technicals includes external assessment. If you’re already approved to offer external examinations through JCQ (or from a previous OCR inspection) and are currently approved for a subject in the 2012 suite, we'll automatically approve you for the same subject in the 2016 suite. There's no need to seek any additional approval.
If you’re new to Cambridge Technicals or haven’t offered any examined qualifications before, you will need to complete the ‘Centre approval form’ for Vocational Qualifications.
This, and more information about becoming an approved centre, can be found on the Centre approval page of our website.
