Guidance for making entries - Legacy modular A Level Maths 14 September 2017

To alleviate any concerns you may have about making entries for this summer’s final “first entry” session for AS/A Level Maths and AS/A Level Further Maths, we’ve set out four scenarios linking you through to some detailed and helpful guidance.

The Essential Facts about the Unitised Structure

Whilst the unitised structure provides flexibility, it occasionally causes entry queries and we want to ensure that there are no delays in certification in the summer, and that your students gain the full reward for all their hard work.
The four scenarios and guidance cover the following OCR GCE mathematics qualifications;

7890 A Level Mathematics OCR
3892 AS Level Further Mathematics OCR
7892 A Level Further Mathematics OCR
7895 A Level Mathematics OCR (MEI)
3896 AS Level Further Mathematics OCR (MEI)
7896 A Level Further Mathematics OCR (MEI)
3897 AS Level Further Mathematics (Additional) OCR (MEI)
7897 A Level Further Mathematics (Additional) OCR (MEI)

The Four Scenarios

Scenario 1-AS Transfers

Do you have students that have sat an AS maths qualification with a different exam specification?

Read the Key documents - Maths AS Transfers (legacy qualifications)

Scenario 2 - Different Maths and Further Maths specifications
Do you have students that have done Maths and Further Maths with different exam specifications?

Read the Key documents - Studying different specifications for A Level Maths and A Level Further Maths (legacy qualifications).

Scenario 3 – Certificating AS Further Maths with A level Maths
Do you have students that sat AS Maths and AS Further Maths, but have chosen to only continue with A Level Maths?

Read the Key documents - Certificating A Level Maths and AS Further Maths (legacy qualifications)

Scenario 4 – Re-certificating legacy Maths and Further Maths

Do you have students that already hold AS/A Level certificates for the legacy qualifications and are planning to sit more units this year?

Read the Key documents - Entries for the legacy unitised A Level Maths and Further Maths.

We are here to help

Spotting and resolving any issue early means that your students will be studying the right units from the outset. If you have a scenario that is not included from the four above or you have any questions regarding entries for the legacy GCE maths suite, then please contact the maths team as soon as possible. @OCR_Maths is our Twitter channel, follow us.
