Cambridge OCR: Introducing our new name and look 08 September 2025

From today (8 September), OCR has a new name and look: Cambridge OCR. The new name reflects our identity as part of Cambridge University Press & Assessment, which brings with it the benefits of Cambridge’s world-leading assessment expertise.

In August 2021, Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment merged to become Cambridge University Press & Assessment (Cambridge); creating one global, connected community of assessment expertise.

Our new name, logo, and look are about more than branding. As part of this process, we have consulted with teachers to find out how we can best help them and their students thrive. The result is a new commitment to all our schools and colleges. We're committed to making assessment straightforward, so every student can thrive and achieve the results they deserve. Across qualifications, support and resources, we constantly work to deliver the highest level of consistency, accessibility and fairness, year-on-year. Find out more.

Watch our video where Myles McGinley, Managing Director of Cambridge OCR, introduces our new name and commitment:

What does this mean for schools, colleges and students?

We’ll use this name on our website, teacher platforms, social media channels and at events, plus on all materials related to administering our exams and awarding our qualifications. Students who sat exams in the summer 2025 series will receive a Cambridge OCR exam certificate.

We’ll gradually introduce our new name and logo across our qualifications materials, new/refreshed teacher resources, exam papers and certificates. This will take time, and you’ll continue to see the OCR (or Oxford Cambridge and RSA) logo as we phase in the new Cambridge OCR branding. Rest assured, regardless of branding, you’ll always have access to accurate, up-to-date materials via our website and Teach Cambridge.

Find out more about who we are and what we offer. You can also learn more about what’s changing when and see our FAQs to help you understand the changes.

We hope these changes will make it easier for schools and colleges to see how we can support each student to achieve the results they deserve.
