Results day is coming - what's available and when 09 August 2017

With results days approaching, here's more about the information that will be available to support you at this important time. There are a number of exciting firsts this summer, such as the first results graded 9 to 1 for new English and Maths GCSEs, and the first results of the new linear A Levels. Every single result is important to OCR and we have been working hard to ensure students get the results they deserve for their performance in their exams. So here's a summary of what's available and when:

AS and A Levels, Cambridge Technicals and all Level 3 results

Results will be available for students on Thursday 17 August 2017 (and for schools, colleges and other centres a day earlier on Wednesday 16 August). It's the first year for the results of the new linear A Levels. Results for students taking OCR's Level 3 Cambridge Technicals will also be available by Thursday 17 August at the latest.

GCSEs, Cambridge Nationals and all Level 2 results

Results will be available for students on Thursday 24 August 2017 (and for schools, colleges and other centres a day earlier on Wednesday 23 August). Results for the new GCSEs will be graded 9 to 1 for the first time this year. For more information about what this means, read here or the blog here.

      Key results information

      • For students and parents will be available here
      • For teachers and exams officers here

There are no UMS marks for new linear qualifications (and here's a blog about what this means). But we do have a handy UMS converter for non linear AS and A Levels and GCSEs which still have individual unit marks.

      Grade boundaries

These will be available to students from 6am on the morning of results days (17 and 24 August). All exam boards are making grade boundaries available online on the same day as students' results this year so they can be seen together and avoid confusion or anxiety.

Got a query about your result?

If you are concerned about a result, there are a number of options available. Always talk to your exams officer or teacher first of all. Here is updated information about the options. For the first time this year, you will be able to request a priority copy of your marked GCSE exam paper. This can help you decide if you want to have your paper reviewed. Also, please speak to your school or college about the deadlines for these options this year.

As results day approaches, it's natural to feel nervous. Take a look at how we mark and grade your exams and the quality checks we have in place.

And for teachers, don't forget OCR's free Active Results service which offers 19 reports to help analyse exam performance.

OCR's Customer Contact Centre will be open from 7am to 5pm on results days. Contact us on 01223 553998 or via email at general.qualifications@ocr.org.uk.
