Sample question papers for OCR’s GCSE (9-1) Maths get thumbs up from Ofqual
30 June 2015
OCR is delighted to confirm that our revised question papers – or sample assessment materials (SAMs) – for our new GCSE (9-1) Maths have been approved by Ofqual today.
A new pack containing the newly-approved SAMs, as well as OCR’s GCSE (9-1) Maths specification, is now on its way to every maths department in the country. But if you can’t wait to see the approved SAMs, they are available on the qualification page.
OCR is excited about the chance to support all students to progress and to develop a sound understanding of mathematical concepts. OCR’s new SAMs support our aim to develop maths skills in students at all levels. They feature questions set within authentic, non-mathematical contexts and using non-technical, accessible language which help students to understand the real-world application of maths. OCR’s new GCSE Maths has been designed to encourage problem solving, reasoning and fluency skills in students at every level.
To help teachers to prepare for the successful introduction of the new GCSE, OCR is offering teaching and learning resources (including new Foundation and Higher Student Books from CUP), the support of our enthusiastic maths Subject Specialist team as well as CPD training.
