Large data set pre-release arrangements
03 September 2026
Following feedback from teachers, we’re changing how we use the large data set pre-release material in our AS and A Level Mathematics B (MEI) assessments.
Instead of using a different data set each series, we're reducing the number of large data sets issued. This means we will use ‘large data set 10’ for future assessments.
The following arrangements now apply:
| Qualification |
Component |
Large data set |
Exam series |
| A Level Mathematics B (MEI) |
H640/02 Pure Mathematics and Statistics |

June 2027, as confirmed in Aug 2024 |
| AS Level Mathematics B (MEI) |
H630/02 Pure Mathematics and Statistics |

| A Level Mathematics B (MEI) |
H640/02 Pure Mathematics and Statistics |

You can download the pre-release data sets from:
- the Assessment > Pre-release materials section of the AS and A Level Mathematics B (MEI) qualification page on our website.
- the Assessment > Exams > Pre-release materials area on Teach Cambridge.
We will review the content of ‘large data set 10’ each year to make sure it remains suitable for assessments.
Teachers can continue to use previously published data sets with their students for teaching and mock assessments.
